The Indo-Canadian comedian returned to his roots in India for his ‘Deported World Tour’ brought by Zee Live’s Supermoon. The night was filled with the perfect amount of rib-tickling jokes and the Russell-special sarcasm.

The show was opened by Jason Collings followed by the long-awaited Emmy, Gemini and Peabody award winning Russell. The event was also attended by prominent celebrities like Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Jahnvi Kapoor, Ishan Khattar, Jim Sarbh, and Tara Sutaria, to name a few.

Speaking on the success of the event, Dome Entertainment Pvt Ltd MD Mazhar Nadiadwala said, “Dome, NSCI is one of the most legendary venues for the most remarkable entertainment shows. In India, Russell Peters is an extremely loved figure whose shows are always houseful. To have a successful event, he required a versatile space like Dome that can undertake the task of handling a large audience while maintaining the quality of the event. It was amazing to see him in his element on stage as he charmed the audiences with his unique sense of humour.”

“Our adept team spent weeks prepping the stage to create this buzz-worthy comic fest. The challenge of transforming our landscape to meet the international standards of Russell’s World Tour was a welcome one. We hope to strengthen our association with him and his team to provide the Indian audiences the best from the entertainment world,” he added.

ZEE LIVE COO Swaroop Banerjee said, “We curated Supermoon with an ambition of bringing the magnificent talent from across the world. We are overwhelmed with the tremendous responses received from the audience for our first edition with Russell Peters. We are grateful to the audience and promise to enthral them with more such memorable and fun-filled events under our Supermoon Flagship.”

Russell Peters said, “India has always been an integral part of all my comic sets because I feel that’s my identity. It is something that’s constant in my life. I have many memories of this place, as both my parents were from here. I’ve been doing stand-up for 30 years and I figured that this would be the best way to show the people of India that I love and respect the country. I thank my audience and Dome, NSCI for putting up the amazing show with me.”
