    MUMBAI: Lifestyle channel TLC is renewing focus on the dedicated travel band ? ?Just Travel@9 pm? - which aims to deliver the ultimate in travel experiences the world has to offer.

    ?Just Travel@9pm? will feature exotic locales with global travel personalities and experts.

    This month on the block, TLC will showcase new series such as ?Not Your Average Travel Guide? and new seasons of series such as ?Xtreme Tourist?, ?1000 Places To See Before You Die?, ?World Caf?: Asia?, ?Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern? and ?Girl Meets Hawaii?.

  • Discovery Science to launch ?Sports Science? on 1 Feb

    MUMBAI: Discovery Science is set to launch a 13-part series, Sports Science, on 1 February.

    The show, exploring the science and engineering underlying athletic endeavours,will air every Wednesday at 8.30 pm.

    Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific Sr. VP and GM - South Asia Rahul Johri said, ?Discovery Science is dedicated to bringing cutting-edge innovations, explorations and technologies that have an impact on our everyday lives. It questions everything and goes beyond imagination to bring never-seen-before insights. Sports Science is a high octane series that unveils mysteries of the sports world via studio and field tests, stunning CGI animation and high definition footage.?

    The channel plans to utilise cutting-edge technology to unveil the mysteries behind the sport with the support of athletes and scientists. It will also explore the extremes of human ability and sports performance through first person exploits.

    Wayne State University in Detroit- Michigan professor of biomedical engineering Dr. Cynthia Bir is the lead engineer in the series. Using methods that have been developed to understand human injury biomechanics, and developing new techniques to address the unique challenges found when studying live volunteers in high impact and high speed activities, Dr. Bir helps viewers to understand the forces (internal and external) sustained and generated by the body during high level athletic activities.

    MUMBAI: Welcoming the Christmas season, lifestyle channel TLC is all set to launch a new series Choccywoccydoodah featuring the work and crew of the cake shop by the same name.

    The show premieres today at 8 pm.

    Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific - South Asia SVP and GM Rahul Johri said, "TLC continues to showcase the best lifestyle experiences to its viewers. The uniquely named series Choccywoccydoodah brings across the insider story of one of the world‘s best cake shops."

    The follows the stresses and strains faced by the team as it tries to live up to the reputation of being one of the most innovative cake makers in the world.

    The cake shop situated in Brighton, UK has earned acclaim for innovative designs and produces 7,500 cakes every year and charges up to ?9,000 a piece for their one-of-a-kind creations. The confectionary boasts of a celebrity clientele that includes the likes of Madonna, Hugh Grant, Bob Geldof, Kylie, Katie Price, Johnny Depp and Kylie Minogue. The shop also supplied the chocolates for the Tim Burton movies Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland.

    MUMBAI: Lifestyle channel TLC has announced that this month, Nigella is back in her kitchen at a time when most people are gearing up for a bit of extended kitchen work to cope with the flurry of gatherings, the Christmas season brings.

    Christmas is, after all, the last bastion of traditional cooking; it is a time when people are more than prepared to spend whole days stirring, stuffing and marinating. In her new series Nigella Christmas Kitchen, the show?s host lays out her philosophy for not only coping with, but actively enjoying the festive season. The show will air from 12 December 2011 everyday at 7.30 pm.

    She goes back to her kitchen to produce a myriad of dishes which relish tradition, and yet play around it too, to celebrate Christmas. Nigella shows viewers new recipes to match the season, which often ends up being more stressful than joyous to many people.

    Produced with a budget of $1 million per episode, Curiosity looks to leave no stone unturned in the quest for answers.
