    Mughal-E-Azam; one of the greatest celluloid love lore of all time, which immortalized the epic characters of Anarkali and Salim has been in the center stage of constant media speculations mainly for its magnificence in making and the much guarded love affair between the lead pair - Dilip Kumar and Madhubala. Though their affair was an open secret within the film fraternity, the clandestine relationship shared by them has always been shielded and respected.

    Bollywood@100, HISTORY TV18?s tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema, dedicates a special episode to Mughal-E-Azam, to bring in front some of the never known facts about the celebrated movie. In a special segment Raza Murad and Madhubala?s sister reveal some of the unheard facts about the life and love of these two iconic stars.

    The half-hour tribute brings out some interesting behind-the-scenes facts of the magnum opus. Like the fact that the filming of this epic took nearly a decade, and it was reported that their six year long relationship ended before the completion. The movie that is known for its intimate depictions obviously had born the consequence of a rough breakup between its lead pair. Post their separation, much of the romantic scenes was shot under much apprehension. Actor Raza Murad, whose uncle was the writer of the epic film, reveals that there was a time when Dilip-Madhubala were not on talking terms and there was a scene where he had to slap her. Dilip Kumar slapped Madhubala so hard that she was stunned and left the set immediately.
