NEW DELHI: The Information and Broadcasting Ministry website mib.nic.in has been completely revamped, adding new information and making it more user-friendly.

The website will henceforth be updated on a daily basis and not periodically as was happening until now.

Uday Kumar Varma, who personally oversaw the revamping of the website, told indiantelevision.com that the aim was to make the information easily accessible to everyone. He said there was greater transparency in the functioning of the Ministry and this was reflected in the website.

The home page now clearly displays all new press releases or notices/decisions of the government.

The website also has provided greater accessibility to linked websites of media units under the Ministry, apart from a column to receive feedback. The phone numbers of all officers in the Ministry have also been displayed.

The decision to update was taken when mediapersons complained that several pages did not open and the news items were not being placed date-wise on the site.

For those who want the main website to remain open even as they are viewing certain pages, there is a separate option for ?View in new window?, in addition to viewing the site in Hindi.
