PEMRA suspends ARY's Nickelodeon licence for airing Indian content

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has cracked the whip on the ARY Digital TV group by suspending the landing licence for its channel Nickelodeon. The reason: it aired Indian content in Hindi.

Star TV gets Pak licence

It's Pakistan ahoy for Star TV. The network was granted the first pay TV licence by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) earlier this week.

India pay TV rates land Star TV in a soup in Pakistan

A couple of months back, the Pakistan government had awarded Star TV a licence to sell and distribute its decoders, and its channels in that country. On 14 December, Star TV executives were left looking at the ceiling or their shoes as the government suspended that licence.
