MUMBAI: The mega player auction for the fourth season of the Indian Premier League will take place in Bangalore on 8 - 9 January.

A total of 350 players will go under the hammer as the 10 franchises look to rebuild their teams ahead the tournament.

Said IPL chairman Chirayu Amin, "The DLF IPL auction is indeed a very exciting prospect. I am confident that IPL fans throughout India and across the world will be paying very close attention to which of the world‘s best cricketers will be wearing their teams colours for the next IPL season."

Indian players including Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra and RP Singh will be up for grabs for the franchises.

The participation of Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab will depend on court orders.

International players such as Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee and Brian Lara, though not part of international cricket anymore, are still expected to strike rich.

The opening match of IPL 2011 will take place on 8 April in Chennai.
