Sanjeev Kohli quits as Yash Raj Films CEO
MUMBAI: Sanjeev Kohli has put in his papers as chief executive officer of Yash Raj Films (YRF). Kohli will, however, continue his association with YRF as a consultant.
“I will continue my association with YRF as a consultant hereafter. This will enable me to find time to indulge in my different pursuits as well as still give me the opportunity to continue to participate in the strategic matters of the company and be a part of its future growth,” Kohli stated in his letter to the company.
Kohli joined YRF as its first CEO in 2000.
In 1995 he joined Yash Chopra in the television business for Metavision, which produced music-based shows for television channels as well as music videos and albums for music companies.
Kohli did his MBA from IIM-Calcutta in 1979 and joined Polydor (now Universal) as its Artiste & Repertoire Manager. In 1984, he joined music label HMV as its general manager (A&R and Marketing).
