TRAI tariff order: Regulator issues notice to Airtel Digital TV for flouting rules

Within a few days of directing six distribution platform operators (DPOs) to comply with all provisions of its new tariff order, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI) has issued a directive to Airtel Digital TV along the same lines. The regulator issued the notice to Airtel Digital TV after finding violation of rules of the new tariff order.

TRAI to finalise views on regulating OTT services by May end
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is hoping to finalise its views on over-the-top (OTT) communication services towards the end of May. By then, the regulatory body will make clear its stand on the issue of bringing WhatsApp, Skype and others under the regulatory regime.

According to a report by Mint, Jio will also be offering additional facilities along with the option to connect at least 40 devices to its smart home network for up to Rs 1000.
