TRAI seeks to define TV ratings guidelines

At the open house on TV ratings guidelines today, TRAI chairman Rahul Khullar sought opinions of industry stakeholders. Those present fear that TRAI's role might be expanded in TV ratings.

Phase II of ad cap comes into effect; channels follow TRAI mandate

As of today, TV channels say they have started following the TRAI diktat of reducing air time to 16 minutes (GECs) and 20 minutes (news) per hour. Media planners say this has not impacted them as channels have not raised rates - as yet.
