BIS certification mandatory for all STBs from 3 April

Placing set-top boxes in the market without clearance by the Bureau of Indian Standards will be illegal from 3 April; cable TV networks will, thus, need to have their STBs conformed to the standards set by the BIS.

DD to launch English news channel by July

DD to split existing bilingual news channel into DD Samachar in Hindi and DD News in English; Sharan says programmes would be in one-hour formats on both the channels.
