Two big nights! Two big Asian movies! It's a double bill of Asian
blockbusters with cops and robbers both going undercover on Star
Movies' Big Two programming initiative this weekend.
The good cop- bad cop scenario gets a twist with Infernal Affairs
and Infernal Affairs 2 which airs on 19 February and 20 February
respectively at 9 pm. In Infernal Affairs, Ming, a cop,
played by Andy Lau is a mole in the triad and a triad member Yan
(Tony Leung) is a mole in the police force and both are continuing
to rise in their careers.
For Yan, the years of living in the criminal underworld have taken
their toll, and he longs to return to regular police duty. However,
the only person who knows Yan's true identity is his mentor Superintendent
Wong played by Anthony Wong. He is also the unsuspecting superior
of Ming.
When Wong's officers come face to face with Sam's gang, both leaders
realize there are moles in their midst. Soon Yan and Ming must track
each other down, leading to an inevitable confrontation.
Infernal Affairs 2 is the sequel. In this movie, Chen Wing
Yan (Shawn Yue) has just become an undercover cop in the triads
while Lau Kin Ming (Edison Chen) joins the police force. Both the
triads and the police find an enemy in a rival crime boss and they
combine to formulate an elaborate plan to take revenge on the triad
boss.
