CNN will present a documentary Taming the Beast:
Inside the War on Cancer. The documentary is scheduled to air
on 13 August at 3:30 pm.
 The
CNN’s medical correspondent Dr Sanjay Gupta will visit The University
of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, USA to learn
about cutting-edge methods used to fight the disease and to meet some
of its survivors.
CNN will also provide rare and personal access to those battling cancer
by providing a unique video recording room in the hospital to allow
patients, doctors, families, clergy and others the opportunity to
share and record information about their experiences with cancer,
informs a press release.
An interview with Dr Fred Lang, associate professor of neurosurgery,
and Dr Juan Fueyo, associate professor of the hospital’s Department
of Neuro-Oncology is included in the programme. During filming,
the doctors were preparing a clinical trial for treating deadly
brain tumors with an injection of a gene altered cold virus called
a “smart bomb.”
