News broadcaster CNN has announced that it will mark the wedding
of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles 9 April with special
programming live from Windsor. A range of expert guests and commentators
will also put this event in context for the network's viewers around
the world. These include CNN royal analyst Robert Jobson, Prince
Charles' biographer Penny Junor, editor of Hello magazine Sally
Cartwright, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam and Lady Colin Campbell.
There will be live five-hour rolling coverage from 3:30 PM CNN's
coverage, co-anchored by Anderson Cooper and Becky Anderson, will
feature all the public events of the day. This includes the arrival
of members of the royal family and invited guests at Windsor's Guildhall,
where the wedding vows are to be taken, and the blessing at Windsor
Castle. CNN will also be taking in the atmosphere among members
of the public gathering in the streets of Windsor to witness the
day's events.
CNN's live reporting will be led by a team of correspondents, including
Richard Quest, Fionnuala Sweeney, Matthew Chance and Paula Hancocks,
and with Quest hosting a live half-hour special to wrap up the day's
events. There will also be a special edition of People in The
News. This is an in-depth look at the relationship between Prince
Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, looking back at the scandals
that have surrounded the royal family.
CNN will also be running packages throughout the day including
reviews of the events and background reports on the history of the
Charles-Camilla relationship, royal memorabilia and the ongoing
debate as to whether Camilla will ever be crowned Queen.
