Next month CNN's documentary Immigrant Nation takes viewers
into the lives of four families living in America. The four families
come from very different backgrounds. Two families have US citizenship
since they were born and raised in the country while the other two
crossed the borders illegally.
The special sees correspondent Maria Hinojosa lead viewers on a
personal journey to the frontlines of the new battle over immigration.
As a Mexican immigrant herself, but now a US citizen, Hinojosa experiences
firsthand changes in immigration policies and outlines the issues,
which ignite passion on both sides.
One of the families on the illegal side of the divide
is the V family. They entered the US legally to visit Disneyland
four years ago and never left. They live as legal citizens in the
US. However, an accidental encounter with the local police or immigration
authorities could cost them their green cards.
The documentary airs on 16 October at 9:30 am and on 17 October
at 4:30 pm.
