al-Qaeda, informs the official release. The interview will also
focus on his progress towards breaking the al-Qaeda network in Pakistan,
about his meeting with the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh
this week and many other aspects, informs the official release.
Excerpt from the interview:
Q: You had said that you would stand down as the Army Chief at
the end of year and now you say you are not going to, why is that?
A: I haven't decided to stay as yet but yes I am considering the
pros and cons. The issue is that we will adhere to the constitution
and we are looking at the voice of the people and the interest of
the security and progress and continuity of policies in Pakistan.
Based on these I yet have to take my decision.
Q: Do you think we will see any progress about Kashmir?
A: I am optimistic that we will strike a good balance in our relationships
and I am optimistic that maybe we will hopefully come out with a better
feeling of our mutual sincerity to address all issues including Kashmir.
I a hopeful about that.
