From a renowned actress down south, to setting benchmarks in politics,
to an acclaimed filmmaker, Revathy has journeyed through various
parameters in life. A woman of substance in the truest sense, Revathys
work and life has been intertwined with relevant issues. A bold
step towards exploring sensitive issues like AIDS in her latest
movie Phir Milenge is what sets Revathy apart from all the
regular mainstream directors.
This
versatile actor turned director will be featured on Star World's
Cover Story with Vir Sanghvi on 12 September.
Having done films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, Revathy marked
her foray into Bollywood with the film Love opposite Salman
Khan. She made her directorial debut with the acclaimed Mitr-
My Friend, which not only garnered critical appreciation but
also garnered the national award for the lead actress Shobana.
Her second film as a director - Phir Milenge starring Salman
Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan, has just released and
drew almost universal acclaim for the sensitivity of the film and
its stellar performances. Quality more than quantity has always
mattered to this lady who claims that she would never do a film
just for the sake of it. As an actor, politician or a director,
Revathy is grace personified.
In conversation with Sanghvi, Revathy talks about her life as an
actor, director and of course her latest movie.
