Star Movies ushers in fun time this weekend with Johnny English
on Friday 8 October at 9 pm.
Starring Rowan Atkinson, better known as Bean, Johnny English
is a hilarious spoof of spy films. Atkinson plays a 007 wannabe
with a touch of lead, who goofs up every assignment now and then.
The hilarious flick also stars pop singer Natalie Imbruglia and
John Malkovich. Atkinson plays the protagonist in this movie, who
can save all Britain from falling into the hands of a despot. But
a time comes when an unfortunate mix-up in computer disks leaves
Johnny English singing ABBA songs in his underwear in front of say,
all of Britain, says a company release.
A lowly pencil pusher working for the MI7 agency, English is suddenly
promoted to super spy after Agent One is assassinated and every
other agent is blown up at his funeral. A billionaire entrepreneur
Pascal Sauvage (Malkovich) sponsors the exhibition of the Crown
Jewels and the valuable gems. Both the crown jewels and valuable
gems disappear on the opening night, and on the watch of English.
The newly designated agent then jumps into action to uncover the
thief and procure the missing valuables. He begins to track the
thieves underground escape route with sidekick Bough, English locks
in on Sauvage despite repeated assurances by boss Pegasus that the
respected entrepreneur has nothing to do with the crime. He often
bumps into the mysterious Lorna (Imbruglia), who has an odd habit
of turning up at the wrong place at the wrong time, adds the release.
