Star Movies premieres Hollywood blockbuster The Rookie on 15 October at 9 pm. Director John Lee Hancock concocts a story based on the real-life story of a baseball player.

The Rookie stars Dennis Quaid, Rachel Griffiths, Brian Cox, Jay Hernandez, Beth Grant, Angus T. Jones and Rich Gonzalez.

The movie revolves around a baseball pitcher Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) who meets with an accident and suffers from a shoulder injury.
He later became a high school science teacher and baseball coach. After having a corrective surgery, despite the longstanding damage to his shoulder, Jim discovers that he can pitch a ball even faster than he could before.

The movie moves ahead of how Jim is about to live his dream of joining a major league team in middle age, when most players are planning their retirement.
