History Channel pays a tribute to Christopher Reeves,
the man who immortalized the character of Superman. Following Reeves'
unfortunate demise on 11 October, after a long struggle with paralysis.
The channel is showcasing a programme on Scientific American Frontiers-The
Bionic Body on 13 October at 10 p.m.
The channel will feature the story of Reeves, the man of steel
who fought against all odds and has today helped advance research
in nerve regeneration and other treatments for such injuries.
The episode will bring forth more about re-engineering the human
body, including recent advances in nerve regeneration for treatment
of spinal cord injury. The show includes a conversation with Alan
Alda and Christopher Reeve, while visiting Reeve at home to discuss
his advocacy of increased research in this field.
