In its bid to celebrate the festive season, Star Movies lined
up crossover Indian cinemas for every Thursday night at 9 pm.
The celebration began last week with Rahul Bose and Perizaad Zorabian
starrer Mumbai Matinee and will continue with the screening
of Bollywood Queen starring Preeya Kalidas and James McAvoy,
this Thursday, says a press release.
Other movies to be telecast include The Guru and Wheres
the party yaar? The movies, says the release, deals with issues
of life and love and the complications that can hamper the smooth
sailing of relationships, these movies look at everyday affairs
with a uniquely Indian slant.
Bollywood
Queen, a cross-cultural romance set in London's East End is about
a young girl of Indian heritage. Geena (Preeya Kalidas) is a nineteen
year-old woman of Indian descent living in the East End. Her parents
have arranged for her to marry a young Indian man. She already has
a secret that she keeps from her parents--an R&B vocal group
she has formed with two friends. But when Jay (James McAvoy), a
white Londoner, saves her from injury on the street, it's love at
first sight, and suddenly she has another secret to keep from her
family, adds the release.
