BBC launches 21st Century Medicine Season

BBC World today premiered its new season of programming - the 21st Century Medicine Season.

In the coming eight weeks, the programme will explore the human body and investigate the current issues that the world of health and medicine is facing today. The season comprises four distinct series - Brain Story, Body Chemistry, Kill or Cure and Fragile Lives.

A special preview screening of the first episode of Brain Story was held in New Delhi to mark the launch of medicine season in the Presence of medical students and professionals.

The programme screened - All in the Mind - is the first episode of the Brain Story series and provides a glimpse into science's journey to understand the incredible complexity of the human brain. Susan Greenfield, Britain's leading neuroscientist, presents the story of the brain - from the earliest crude studies through to the latest insights from direct stimulation of specific areas in patients undergoing brain surgery whilst wide awake.
