| The loopy, sexy revenge thriller Femme Fatale
by noted director Brian De Palma is the final Friday Night Premiere
for the month of May on Star Movies on 28 May at 9 p.m.
The
movie stars Antonio Banderas of Evita and The Mask of
Zorro fame with supermodel turned actress Rebecca Romijn-Stamos
and Peter Coyote. Femme Fatale establishes director Brian
De Palma as a director of contemporary film noir.
Although a master of psychological thrillers, De Palma's movies
are packed with romance, horror and gangster melodramas. Some of
his other movies includes Mission Impossible, The Untouchables,
Spy Kids 2, Dressed to Kill and Carrie, which garnered
two Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting
Actress.
Shot entirely in Paris and its surroundings, the story revolves
around the manipulative and alluring seductress Laure (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos),
who plays a crucial role in a sultry jewel theft and abruptly leaves
the world of crime.
Laure, later, refashions herself as a respectable woman with a
high-profile political life and soon captures the attention of Nicolas
(Antonio Banderas).
But
serving an agenda of his own, Nicolas shatters Laure's carefully
crafted world with one shutter click of his seditious camera.
Suddenly exposed to the world and vulnerable to her enemies, Laure
is determined to use her considerable assets - and Nicolas' instincts
- to reinvent her identity and once again escape her past. But as
she tries to seduce Nicholas, Laure finds her quest for revenge
complicated by their mutual attraction.
