Mukherjee with Indian soldiers, after a game of throw ball |
Jai Jawan is not just an entertainment show, but an effort
to bring some joy and happiness to the hard and lonely lives of
our jawans who guard our borders in far-flung hostile regions.
Jai Jawan's first episode last year had Aamir Khan and this
year Jai Jawan travels yet again to the frontlines to meet
the people who make India a safer place to live in day after day.
Indian soldiers and jawans lead lives that are difficult yet inspiring
and Jai Jawan takes yet another inspired star up and close
to bring a cheer to the jawans. Actor Rani Mukherjee travels into
the desert sands of Rajasthan to experience the routine of the jawans
for a few days.

Mukherjee with the wives of the Indian soldiers |
Beginning from the nearest air link into Rajasthan, Rani Mukherjee
travels with the NDTV team to reach Jodhpur. Set in the barren sand
dunes of Rajasthan, NDTV anchor and journalist, Abhigyan Prakash
introduces the show by sharing Mukherjee's passion for meeting the
army.
Mukherjee also gets an insight into the games and physical training
that the jawans go through every morning. Before long she is on
the field for a game of throw ball, easily giving her side the winning
advantage. The hidden fact that she was a throw ball champ from
school, made all the difference. From cooking her favorite Bengali
dessert for the soldiers, to playing Antakshari with them, Mukherjee
has a ball.

last a lifetime behind her Rani bids adieu to the unique lives of
the Indian Army soldiers.
