In yet another edition of investigative reporting specials, Zee
News will showcase some investigative reports and nerve wrecking
crime stories in the Inside Story, Special Correspondent, Pehal,
Crime File and Zee Follow up this weekend.
In Special Correspondent, airing on Saturday, 27 March
at 9:30 pm, Debdutta Ghosh will take into account how illegal mining
is causing problems of subsidence in the coal belt of Asansol and
Raniganj of West Bengal. Prior to that in Zee Follow Up, at
7:30 pm, the news channel will take a peek into lives of former
Indian Cricketers, who althoughgave the country it's historic wins
some time ago but are now both unseen by government and cricket
board alike.
As for Sunday special, Pehal, airing on 28 March 2004 at
3:45 pm will showcases the extraordinary efforts of an organisation
named Widows Welfare Association, which is trying to bring changes
in the life of widows and their children at Palam Gaon, Delhi. In
the evening, The Inside Story, airing at 9:30 pm will highlights
how the illegal and unhygienic liquor is being made and circulated
all over India.
Hundreds of people are dying every year due to consumption of illegal
liquor. The Inside Story will take a look at how it is openly
marketed in prohibited and non-prohibited areas and will also look
at what police is doing when these kind of crime keep happening
near the police stations.
Last on the weekend special fare is Encounter, airing at
10:30 pm, this Sunday special will showcase senior journalist Alok
Mehta's one to one encounter with Defence Minister George Fernandes.
