April sees series of French movies on TV5

MUMBAI: It's good news for the lovers of French movies. TV5 channel is offering a bouquet of some great French movies from directors Agnes Varda, Francois Truffaut, Paul Vecchiali, Jacques Demy, Harriet Marin and the like.

The programme for April 2004 includes films like Femmes Femmes, Jules Et Jim,Cesar and Rosalie, Epouse-Moi, Xxl, Cuisine Et Dependances and more.

Femmes Femmes or (Women Women) in English will be the first film to be screened on Thursday, 1 April at 5:55 pm, which will be repeat telecasted on Saturday, 3 April at 9:45 pm (IST). Directed by Paul Vecchiali in the year 1974, this black and white movie stars Helene Surgere, Sonia Saviange, Michel Duchaussoy and Michel Delahaye in the lead roles. The movie deals with the lives of two women married to a single man and their struggle for survival.

The next screening on Saturday 3 April is IL Est Plus Facile Pour Un Chameau… which in English means 'It's easier for a camel…' With a running time of 110 minutes, this movie has Valeria B Tedeschi and Roberto Herlitzka in the lead role and is directed by Valeria B Tedeschi in the year 2002.

Jules Et Jim and Le Cri Du Coeur, are the next in the plate to be screened on 5 April and 6 April respectively. Directed by Francois Truffaut, the former deals with the lives of two men, a German and a French who falls in love with the same girl while the backdrop has been kept as the World War One. On the other hand, the latter deals with Moctar and her immigrant husband in France and is directed by Idrissa Ouedraogo.

Besides these, there are some other good movies like Cesar Et Rosalie, Les Demoiselles Ont Eu 25 Ans, Epouse- Moi, Trois Places Pour Le 26, Cuisine Et Dependances, Cleo De 5 A 7, XXL and Les Creatures which are going to be aired in TV5 channel throughout the month of April.
