MUMBAI: Deepti Bhatnagar’s daily soap Kabhi Aayi Na Judai (KANJ) which airs from Monday to Thursday at 2:30 pm on Star Plus has hit triple century!

KANJ is the story of Kanya, the daughter of a professor who marries into the family, chosen by her parents and the trials and troubles she has to overcome in life.

Producer-director Bhatnagar said, "I am ecstatic that one of my three babies, the youngest of the lot (the other two being Musafir Hoon Yaaron and Yatra) Kabhi Aayi Na Judai, my first daily soap has reached it’s 300th episode. Working on a daily soap, with so many talented actors and an excellent crew, just made the challenge an enjoyable experience. Kanya’s journey through life has had it’s ups and downs, but the message we are trying to convey is no sacrifice goes unnoticed. Every decision and sacrifice Kanya makes she emerges a winner. It is the story of every woman of this country, who puts her family before herself."

Talking about the show said Pooja Rawal, who plays Kanya said, "Priya sacrifices her love and happiness for others. Her character is so very similar to most Indian women who sacrifice a lot of their happiness, wants, desires, for their home, husband, children. The character of Kanya has evolved in the soap—from a young girl, to a young bride, to a nervous and tortured wife to a supportive friend and companion to Sidhartha. I have enjoyed playing shades of these characters and it’s given me a chance to go through a whole range of emotions. I have been very fortunate to play the protagonist Kanya."

Prabhat Bhattacharya, who plays Dev said, "I enjoy playing Dev, the pop singer. Though I’m not a good singer, I enjoy music. As Dev, the songs that I sing reminds me of some of late Kishore Kumar songs which are very close to my heart. Dev loves Kanya and his only ambition in life is to win Kanya back. It’s a role with no shades of grey."

Talking about his role, Nasir, who plays Sidhartha said, "It is the story of Dev, Kanya and Sidhartha. For Kanya the choice is tough—Dev, is the man she loved and married, and Sidhartha is the man whom she is committed to, as he stood by her through thick and thin. Sidhartha is a man of honour, commitment and strength. He admires and falls in love with Priya for the support and encouragement she has given him."
