The
Science of India showcases the mathematicians, surgeons and
visionaries of ancient India. It treads the historic path to Takshashila,
which was the seat of learning in 700 B.C.
The
show, which is divided into four sections, opens with a general
science story that traces the life and times of the great men and
women of science, who defied the limitations of the human mind to
propose theories and path breaking ideas, way before their time.
The
medicine section, on the other hand, traces India's contribution
to the understanding of the human anatomy, whereas the architecture
section unravels the scientific secrets behind some of the greatest
architectural marvels of the world.
The
series also reveals that there is a science to art too; whether
in the pirouettes of a folk dance or the raga of a classical
symphony.
The
Science of India depicts how the country saw the first light of
Science which sowed the seeds of scientific knowledge.
Earlier,
Miditech has also produced a series called Living on the Edge
for Doordarshan.
