The planet Venus is passing across the disc of the sun after 122 years on Tuesday morning. It's called a transit of Venus and it hasn't happened for the last 122 years.

Venus Transit will be aired live on DD National from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on 8 June. It will be anchored by actor, playwright Girish Karnad along with co-anchor Aparna Vaish, with expert comments from professor Yash Pal, professor Arvind Bhatnagar and Dr. Vinay B Kamble.

The Transit will be clearly visible in countries like Egypt, Turkey, Crete, Cyprus and the Canary Islands. But Greece with its sunny skies is the favourite transit-watching site among astronomers.

While in case of Europe, the Middle East and much of Africa, Venus moves in front of the sun's disk in mid-morning and exits in early afternoon.
