AIR FM trains lenses on eye care

AIR's FM station has launched a series of special episodes on eye care that are being broadcast this fortnight across various existing shows. All these specials will be ineractive episodes with listeners calling in for live consultations with doctors invited on the show.

Conceptualised by AIR RJs Pankaj Athawale and Mayuresh, the 'eye special' programmes on 100.7 Gold FM, commenced on Sunday and will continue till 20 June.

The first episode, hosted by RJ Santosh Sirur, aired on 6 June and dwelved on 'Cataract and cataract surgery' on the show Radio Rhythms. The second, aired today, dwelt on 'Diabetes and complications of the eye' on the show Sakhi.

An episode in Hindi on 'Eye problems in children' on the show Saheli will air on Tuesday at 11.05 am. A similar episode on
problems related to contact lenses and glasses will be aired on Saheli on 12 June at 11.05 am, while a Marathi episode on 'Eye strain and computer related problems' will air on Sakhi at 11.05 am.

A Hindi episode on glaucoma will air on Saheli at 11.05 am on 15 June, while old age eye problems will be dealt with on 19 June on Saheli at 11.05 am. An episode in English on corneal transplants will be aired on Radio Rhythms at 12.05 pm on 20 June, to be hosted by Santosh Sirur.
