It was a perfect homecoming for AR Rahman in Chennai where he performed a live event for the first time. The music maestro's Unity of Light concert also witnessed the coming together of India's finest performers SP. Balasubramaniam, S. Janaki, Hariharan, Chitra, Shankar Mahadevan, Sukhwinder Singh, Srinivas Sadhana Sargam, Mahalakshmi, Anupama, Vassundra Das and Karthik among others.

Such a prestigious show and the tube could never miss it out! So we have Vijay TV bringing the event to the drawing rooms on 11 and 18 July at 11:30 am as a two part series.

The musical evening gave the viewers one of the best shows of Rahman and had songs from some of his biggest movies like 'Roja', 'Bombay', 'Dil Se', etc. A highlight in the show was when Rahman himself took the mike and held the audience with a song from one of his releases, said an official release.

The show has been one of the biggest in terms of scale and appeal. The stage was the biggest in recent times measuring 120 ft x 60 ft. The stage was lit up with 'intelligent' lights and the sound was a whopping 60,000 watts! Designers specially flown in from Canada designed the stage. More than 35000 fans turned up to watch the maestro perform, added the release.
