A bored beautiful wife, a dull preoccupied husband and a handsome,
mysterious stranger; the perfect recipe for trouble? On 9 July at
9 pm Star Movies will air Unfaithful with Oscar nominee Diane
Lane, Richard Gere and Oliver Martinez.
Lane stars as Connie, a lonely wife who lives in a beautiful mansion
in Westchester, New York, with her husband Ed (Richard Gere) and
young, mischievous son (Erik Per Sullivan). One impossibly windy
day while out shopping, she literally runs into a handsome rare-book
collector Paul (Olivier Martinez).
Its an encounter, which assaults her with mystery, spontaneity,
charm and risk. It pulls Connie into an affair, which becomes her
obsession. Ed, her husband, soon gets wind of the liaisons, and
their lives slowly begin to spiral out of control.
Directed by Adrien Lyne, Unfaithful is a loose remake of
the 1969 French film, La Femme Infidele, which was released in the
US as The Unfaithful Wife. Lyne's previous big hit Fatal
Attraction also dealt with the same theme. The difference was
that the husband played by Michael Douglas did the cheating.
