Zee English is celebrating Friendship Day (1st of August) by telecasting Season Nine of the award-winning series Friends, back-to-back for almost 12 hours from 10 am to 10 pm on the day.

Zee English launched the Season Nine of Friends in October last year. The series starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox Arquette, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. One of the Television's top-ranked series and the recipient of 44 Emmy Award nominations, Friends has proved itself as a sophisticated comedy that looked into the hearts and minds of a group of friends living in New York City.

The serial as well as its cast have won accolades at various forums. Friends received two People's Choice Awards for Favorite Television Comedy Series (1999-2000 and 2000-2001) and also won the award in its first season (1994-95) for Best New Comedy Series.

In eight successful seasons, Friends has received 44 Emmy Award nominations and six Golden Globe Award nominations. Continuing its run of award nominations last year, it received a total of 11 nominations at the Emmys.
