Minister for external affairs Yashwant Sinha on 'Akbar Ka Darbar'

In a freewheeling interview with MJ Akbar, Sinha talks about the impact of the recently concluded SAARC Summit, the changing facets of Indo-Pak relations and the reasons driving this change, and why he is confident that the BJP will win the upcoming general elections.

Akbar observes that Musharraf is the first prime minister of Pakistan to have praised an Indian prime minister for his vision and flexibility. On being asked, "What is Vajpayee's vision?" Sinha said, "Vajpayee's vision is peace in South Asia."

Akbar Ka Darbar takes you 'Inside Politics' and aims at redefining the way the viewer 'understands' the impact of political events. The programme takes the viewer beyond just reporting on what has happened to understanding the 'why' behind political developments.

Director Ram Gopal Verma on 'Masand Ki Pasand' on Star News

While on the one hand there are heated political debates and Q&As on Akbar Ka Darbar this weekend, on the entertainment side ace movie director Ram Gopal Verma will be seen in a tête-à-tête with Rajeev Masand on Star News' weekly film show, Masand Ki Pasand on 24 January at 8:30 pm. A repeat telecast will be aired on 25 January at 10.30 am and 6.30 pm.

Over the past decade, Verma has proven himself as one of Bollywood's most talented directors. The boyish-looking civil engineer-turned-director-producer has been a movie buff from his childhood days.

Recently Verma's highly acclaimed flick Bhoot, redefined the genre of thriller films. His avant-garde technique and style are akin to Hollywood. Almost all his movies are daringly different and one can say that there is a new Verma school of filmmaking that has evolved, thanks to him.

Also dashing and debonair actor Dino Morea can be seen in the same episode. Morea talks about his future plans and his friendly relationship with ex-girlfriend, Bipasha Basu. Masand will conclude the show with film reviews of the week's two big releases Aetbaar and Khakee.
