On 24 January at 7:30 pm long jump athlete Anju George will Walk
The Talk on NDTV 24*7. She dwells on her triumphs, her failures
and her struggles with journalist Shekar Gupta.
Two years ago Anju became the first Indian woman to win a long
jump medal at the Commonwealth Games at Manchester. Then she went
a step further by winning a gold at the Busan Asian Games. The Kerala
wonder athlete, Anju then clinched the bronze medal at the World
Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris thus becaming the first Indian
athlete ever to win a medal in that tournament.
The next edition of the channels fierce debate The Big Fight
will deal with the Telgi stamp paper scam. This will air on the
same day at 8 pm. In the show reporter Rajdeep Sardesai will be
at the centre of a face-off between people on opposite sides of
the same issue. The show will have guest like Maharashtra ex-Chief
Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Julio Ribeiro and Nitin Gadkari. Some
saw Bhujbal as using the Zee office attack as an excuse for resigning.
The show will repeat on 25 January at 12 pm.
The channel will also air The Kingfisher Fashion Awards 2004
on 25 January at 10 pm. The award took place at the Kingfisher Villa.
The usual Mumbai and Delhi socialites thronged Goa. The event had
designers like Manoviraj Khosla, Rohit Bal, Anamika Khanna, Satya
Paul, Abhishek Gupta and Nandita Basu showcase their collections.
There were awards for Male Model of the Year, Male and Female Face
of the Year, Style Icon of the Year, Award for Makeup and Hair.
The awards chosen by a panel consisting of novelist Shobhaa De and
Prasad Bidappa were distributed in between the fashion sequences
by Dr Viyay Mallya and VJ Kamal Siddhu - who played hostess for
the event.
