CNN’s programme Living Golf heads to Newport, Wales in the
UK to report on preparations for the 2010 Ryder Cup. The show airs
on 16 and 23 February at 6 pm.
The broadcaster looks at the implications for the local economy
of an event that has secured nearly a billion dollars in investment.
The half-hour programme also takes viewers to Newport’s Celtic Manor,
the future Ryder Cup venue, to explore the history of the Manor
and its three golf courses.
Heading to a warmer climate, CNN moves onto Florida, which this
year plays host to the annual PGA ‘Show of America’ the largest
golf show in the world. Hosting 50,000 golf enthusiasts in one clubhouse,
the event showcases the latest golfing equipment. CNN's Chris Meadows
takes this opportunity to test out the latest training aids and
the hottest clubs on the market.
Additionally Living Golf travels to Kau Sai Chau in Hong
Kong, where a golf course has created enthusiasm for the game amongst
local residents. Alison Nicholas, vice-captain of Europe’s Solheim
Cup Team is also at hand to provide those all-important golfing
tips, including her secret for better putting.
