Animal Planet will telecast Temple of the tigers, will air on 5 September at 10 pm

The special narrates the story of 10 monks shouldering the responsibility of protecting tigers by offering them a home within the walls of their temple. Temple of the tigers will be repeat on 13 September at 10 pm.

According to Discovery Communications India director-marketing Aditya Tripathi, "Temple of the Tigers presents an unbelievable relationship between the tigers and the monks. It is such captivating programmes that have led to Animal Planet's popularity across the world."

According to a company release, the episode explores each monk's unique life and their one-of-a-kind relationship with the tigers they care for.

The monks' goal is to save these animals, which would have otherwise died in the wild, and in turn to aid in the rejuvenation of the dwindling tiger species.
