Jai Jawan now travels to Uri with Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and NDTV anchor Barkha Dutt to celebrate the 57th Independence Day with the Indian Army jawans.

The Jai Jawan Independence Day Special will be telecast on NDTV India on 13 August at 11:00 pm and on NDTV 24X7 on 14 August at 10:00 pm. The repeat telecast is scheduled on 15 August at 12:00 noon on NDTV India and at 09:30 pm on NDTV 24X7.

From the Dras-Kargil sector to the desert of Jaisalmer, from the Atari-Wagah border to the Jammu sector, Jai Jawan has travelled with Bollywood stars in an effort to bring joy & happiness to the difficult and lonely lives of our jawans who guard our borders in far-flung hostile regions, says a company release.

In earlier episodes, film stars like Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan visited the border areas to meet with the jawans from the Indian Army.

During the programme, Barkha Dutt provides viewers with a glimpse of the lives of these jawans, several thousand miles away from their homes. Sanjay Dutt spends two days with the jawans breaking all barriers of formality and seeks to become one with them sharing their lives.
