In its bid to go beyond the news reports, NDTV 24x7 attempts to
Walk the walk with the Pilots of the MiG's.
The
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-21 fighter aircraft, which makes up 40 percent
of the Indian Air Force's supersonic jet fleet, often, makes it
to the front pages of Indian newspapers, but for all the wrong reasons.
Noted journalist Shekar Gupta will be talking about the fighters
planes with the Pilots on Saturday, 13 September at 7:30 pm
MiG-21 was India's first sub-sonic aircraft bought from the Russia
during the 1970's. It has ever since been a crucial asset to the
Indian Air Force.
One third of total flying in IAF is done by the fighter fleet,
half of which is carried out by MiG-21 fighters alone, says a company
release. However series of crashes continues to dog the jet aircraft.
According to the release, the look behind the scene should make
an interesting weekend watch.
