| Music maestro A R Rahman is the Star
music arm, Channel [V]'s chosen one for September. On 12 September
at 7:30 pm, the channel will air an exclusive interview with Rahman.
He will talk about his passion, music and other things and events
that has influenced him.
With
his first film soundtrack, Roja, directed by Mani Ratnam,
Rahman redefined contemporary Indian music. The young genius, the
channel claims, has earned every conceivable music award in India
and has composed the soundtracks for over 50 films - including Tamil
flicks like Alaipayuthey, Kandukonden Kandukonden, Jeans
and Hindi ones like Rangeela, Lagaan, Fiza, Taal, Earth, Dil
Se, Fire and Bombay.
Over 40 million albums of Rahman's soundtracks have been sold world
wide, according to a company release. His debut non-film album Vandemataram,
a tribute to the motherland was a success and sold over a million
copies.
The A R Rahman, [V] The Chosen One Special will be repeated
on 18 September at 9:30 pm, 28 September at 9 pm and 30 September
at 2 pm.
