CNN will focus on two themes: War On Terror and View Of
America. With in-depth reporting from around the globe, CNN’s
correspondents investigate how the war on terror is unfolding and
what the world thinks of America today.
The War On Terror special reports will air on Your World
Today from 8:30 pm each day. The View Of America specials
air during the Asia Now band at 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
CNN’s journalists will report on every aspect of the war on terror
from the fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan to the terrorist
stronghold in Southeast Asia to where some say lies the new hotbed
of al-Qaeda, Iraq.Highlights of CNN’s enterprise reporting for the
special include distinctive pieces by CNN Chief International Correspondent
Christiane Amanpour from Afghanistan where the war on terror started.
She will report on the Taliban’s re-emergence, the strength of the
warlords and how the meager aid and lack of security continues to
slow the reconstruction. Amanpour goes on a mission with U.S. troops
in search of Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters and talks with President
Hamid Karzai about his tasks ahead.
Meanwhile tomorrow at 8:30 pm CNN’s Jonathan Mann, hosts an hour-long
roundtable discussion with students from the Middle East and the
US to talk about how they view themselves, their countries and the
role of the US in the world since 9/11. Additionally, CNN’s special
coverage will feature reports from correspondents and anchors including
Zain Verjee, Nic Robertson, Ash-har Quraishi, Fionnuala Sweeney
and John Vause.
Tomorrow the broadcaster will also air live coverage from the World
Trade Center ceremony from 6 pm as well as other memorial services
across the US and around the world. They will include the Tribute
in Light event in New York City.
