Formula One World Championship 2003 is being telecast live on Star
Sports - right from the qualifying race to the podium finish, including
the Grand Prix - today and tomorrow (11-12 October).
The championship will see whether Michael Schumacher claims the
ownership of the drivers' title from Juan Manuel Fangio without
any slip up. Schumacher, on 92 points, leads the championship by
an almost insurmountable nine points from McLaren's Kimi Räikkönen
on 83. Now he just needs to finish in the points (eighth) and he
is certain of the crown. Even if he doesn't manage that, his only
surviving rival, the Finn Räikkönen, must also win at
Suzuka.
The third challenger for most of the campaign, Williams' Colombian
Juan Pablo Montoya saw his title hopes fade in Indianapolis when
he collided with Schumacher's team mate, the Brazilian Rubens Barrichello.
Montoya incurred a stop-and-go penalty for that and could only finish
sixth.
The championship promises to be a thrilling one - with many improbabilities
such as collisions.
