Business channel CNBC TV18's latest initiative 'Banking on the
Future' - an event presenting a special session on the changing
face of banking industry in India - is being held at 6.30 pm today.
The event is sponsored and co-sponsored by Oracle and Hewlett Packard
respectively.
The
event will have key business leaders from banking and finance, industry
commentators, policy makers and opinion makers debate on the most
critical issues facing the banking and finance industry today, a
company release stated. The focus of the event will be whether we
are ignoring structural issues in the banking system. It will talk
about Basel II and the recent WTO regulations, which may change
the shape of banking and finance in India.
The panelists at the brainstorm session will include joint MD of
ICICI Bank Lalita Gupte, ED of Deolitte Touche and Tohmatsu Ashvin
Parekh, chairperson of Indian Bank Ranjana Kumar, CM of Union Bank
Of India V Leeladhar and the chairman of Indian Banks Association
H N Sinor.
After the debate, CNBC TV18 will also present a close encounter
with golf player Rishi Narain at the Golf Clinic, who will take
viewers through the basics of the game, the release stated.
