As a rebuttal to UK journalist Martin Bashir's controversial documentary
Living With Michael Jackson, which raised many eyebrows;
the pop star will have his say with The Michael Jackson Interview:
The Footage You Were Never Meant To See.
The show hosted by Maury Povich will air on Sunday, 4 May at 6:30
pm with a repeat telecast at 10:00 pm.
Living With Michael Jacksonthe film which was put together
by Bashir after an eight months of unprecedented access to Jackson's
life and family, had raised questions as to whether the British
journalist "told it like it is" or betrayed Jackson's trust with
misleading content. Interestingly, Jackson has revealed that while
Bashir's cameras were rolling, he too had his own cameras aimed
at the journalist and him . Thus he had captured moments of lighthearted,
friendly camaraderie between him and Bashir where the journalist
makes surprisingly enthusiastic compliments about Jackson's parenting
skills and relationships.
The special also features an exclusive interview with Jackson's
ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, her first in years. Speaking to Globe reporter
Ian Drew, she addresses rumours of Jackson's sexuality, children
sharing their bed, and if they slept together.
After Jackson has his say, the Oprah Winfrey show will host
a special Viewers Respond To Michael Jackson on 5 May at
2:00 pm.
