CNN has announced that its half hour music special The Music
Room will focus on the fab four, or should one say, three. It
will feature previously unseen footage of Paul McCartney, George
Harrison and Ringo Starr in a mid 1990s jam session. It has been
given exclusive access to the team who put together The Beatles
Anthology.
The programme also gets a unique tour of Abbey Road's famous Studio
2, where the Beatles recorded many of their best-known songs. The
viewer get to see the 40-year-old echo chamber used to record Yellow
Submarine and other well-known tracks.
An official release informs that when released, The Beatles
Anthology immediately became the best-selling music DVD, entering
the charts at number one. Abbey Road's senior recording engineer
demonstrates how he took the original master of the classic George
Harrison song Something and used digital technology to remix
into state-of the-art surround sound. The Music Room's reporter,
Amanda Palmer, hears special out-takes from Beatles recording sessions
and shows for the first time interviews and a jamming session with
Paul, George and Ringo when they reunited for the making of the
Anthology in the mid-1990s.
The show airs on 4 May at 1 pm and 7 pm IST.
