As part of its continuing coverage of the Punjabi Mela 2003 held in New Delhi from 13-15 February, etc Punjabi and Alpha TV Punjabi will showcase the best of Punjabi Sufi music in The Sufis. A press release states that Punjabi Mela 2003 was the first time that the two Punjabi channels in India-etc Punjabi and Alpha TV Punjabi came together to organise the biggest ever Punjabi event in Delhi.

The release adds that the two channels together currently provide the biggest platform for Punjabi music artists. The telecast of The Sufis will also be done jointly by both channels with the first episode on etc channel Punjabi and the second episode on Alpha TV Punjabi. Sufi Punjabi will bring for the viewers, performances of some of the best exponents of Punjabi Sufi music like the famous Wadali brothers, Manpreet Akhtar and Barkat Siddhu.

During the two episodes of Sufi Punjabi, viewers will get to see the Wadali brothers perform some of their greatest hits including Tu Maane ya Na Maane and Heer Ranjha along with songs from their latest music album, Aa Mil Yaar released on Music Today and promoted exclusively on etc Channel Punjabi.

While Barkat Siddhu will perform his traditional Sufi kalaams, Manpreet Akhtar will sing her hit film songs like Main Vaari from the film Jee Aaya Nu and Tum Gaye Gum Nahin from the film Zindagi Khoobsoorat Hai.
