MUMBAI: The title of Zee TV's latest offering for its viewers is
Awaaz - signifying a sound or a noise. Hopefully it will
make a big bang with them.
The network announced the launch of the mega series on 29 July calling
it "the biggest offering yet from the Zee TV stable."
The show is produced by Antakshari conceptualiser and director old
time Zee TV hand Gajendra Singh and is directed by Anil Chaudhary
and Arvind Babbal.
The channel has also called upon Navnit Parihar who played the lead
in Tara, one of the biggest winners of Zee TV in the mid
and late nineties, to play a pivotal role in the series.
A company release says "Awaaz deals with the intricacies
of human relationships. It highlights how a single incident can
change the destiny of people. It also tries to delve into the transition
in relationships that result due to the loss of loved ones."
The other cast members inlcude: Dimple Inamdar, Indu Verma, Ram
Kapoor, Pooja Gandhi, Zoya Chaudhary, Rohini Hattangadi, Amit Behl,
Rahul Lohani, Sumera, Uday Tikekar, and Yash Sinha.
Speaking on the launch Ms. Apurva Purohit, President-Zee TV said,
"Zee TV has always created unique properties like Sa Re
Ga Ma Pa and Antakshari that have successfully captured
the attention of people for such a long time. The serial not only
tries to breakaway from the usual sas bahu bandwagon but
also addresses the vagaries of the ever changing human mind."
Said Singh, " I am really thankful to Zee TV for giving me
an opportunity to create this serial. It was a pleasure to lend
creative insights and work closely with the cast of the serial."
The series will debut on 10 August at 10 p.m.
