HBO has announced that its blockbuster for 2003. Mission Impossible II will premiere on 18 January at 9:30 pm.

Directed by John Woo, who made Broken Arrow the film sees Tom Cruise reprise the role of Ethan Hunt. The film was shot in various parts of Australia.

The Germans have created ‘Chimera’, a genetically engineered virus that can destroy the entire world. And Hunt has to find it. But he’s not the only one after the virus. A former IMF agent is also after it, already having stolen the cure for the virus. And that’s not all the problems he has on his hands, he falls in love with a thief Nyah (Thandie Newton). Mission Impossible II went into the record books with an opening day gross of $12.5 million, the fourth highest opening ever for a film.
