The
Indian film industry's most coveted awards, the 48th Annual Manikchand
Filmfare awards are scheduled to be held on 21 February 2003, at
the Bandra-Kurla complex , Mumbai.
As a run-up to the mega event, Sony Entertainment Television will
air a curtain raiser hosted by television artistes Simone Singh
and Rohit Roy.
The curtain raiser airs on 16 February 2003 at 9:30 pm.
The nominees under various categories are :
Best Film: Company, Devdas, Humraaz, Kaante and Raaz.
Best Director: Abbas-Mustan for Humraaz, Ram Gopal
Varma for Company, Sanjay Gupta for Kaante, Sanjay
Leela Bhansali for Devdas and Vikram Bhatt for Raaz.
Best Actor: Ajay Devgan for Company, Amitabh Bachchan
for Kaante, Bobby Deol for Humraaz, Shah Rukh Khan
for Devdas and Vivek Oberoi for Saathiya.
Best Actress: Aishwarya Rai for Devdas, Amisha Patel
for Humraaz, Bipasha Basu for Raaz, Karisma Kapoor
for Shakti - The Power, Rani Mukherjee for Saathiya.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Amitabh Bachchan for Aankhen,
Jackie Shroff for Devdas, Mohanlal for Company, Sanjay
Dutt for Kaante and Vivek Oberoi for Company.
Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Antara Mali for Company,
Kiron Kher for Devdas, Madhuri Dixit for Devdas, Shilpa

Best Performance in a Comic Role : Govinda for Ankhiyon
