Zee MGM has announced that its movie for the month of August is
Woody Allen's Everyone Says I Love You. Viewers get to see
the likes of Edward Norton and Drew Barrymore give their vocal chords
a workout. It airs on 31 August at 9 pm.
Allen mixes song-and-dance with his usual array of neurotic, upscale
New Yorkers suffering romantic woes. While the impending wedding
of two young lovers is the centerpiece of the film, we also get
to know various members of the girl's family and their dysfunctional
love lives. The characters often express their feelings through
such classic jazz tunes as My Baby Just Cares for Me.
In addition on 10 August at the same time the channel will air
Quentin Tararntino's mood piece Jackie Brown. The film stars
Pam Grier as the title character who supplements her meager income
as a stewardess by smuggling cash into the US for gunrunner Ordell
Robbie played by Samuel L Jackson. However one day the cops pressure
her to help them bring Robbie down. Matters are complicated by Ordell's
business associates who have agendas of their own. By appearing
to cooperate with both sides, Jackie attempts to outfox them both
and walk away with a half million dollar payday.
