This month CNN Business Traveller focusses on South Africa.
The programme looks at how business is booming in a country with
a wealth of natural and human resources -- a country seen by many
as the next 'tiger' economy.
The show airs on 21 August at 6 pm with repeats on 23 August at
5 pm, 24 August at 6 pm and on 25 August at the same time. Show
host Richard Quest talks to BMW and Revlon, two companies that have
invested and reaped the rewards of good business in South Africa.
He finds out how they have done it and what opportunities the country
holds for other businesses considering investing abroad.
The show segment African Entrepreneur looks at how expanding
ones business in a foreign country presents many challenges, taking
Bong Kwoe as a case study. Bong runs a small fashion company in
Durban and wants to make it big in the UK but first has to overcome
the hurdles of how to gauge the market in a place you are unfamiliar
with and how to recognise if your product is ready to work in another
country.
The half-hour programme also goes On The Road with South
Africa's rugby team, the Springboks, as they head down under for
the Tri-Nations Tour. Gadgets looks at the technology that
make that important business presentation a touch more memorable,
with a lesson from the man who throws out the clichés, keeping
the audience interested by presenting with credibility and style.
CNN Business Traveller is a monthly feature programme produced
in association with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts.
